Qdot designed and implemented an Integrated Management System (IMS) for Netzero, an environmental solutions company based in Al Khobar. The IMS combines ISO 9001:2015 quality management, ISO 14001:2015 environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety in one system.
The project ran from October 2025 to June 2026. Bureau Veritas certified the system under UKAS accreditation with zero major or minor nonconformities.

About Netzero
Netzero is a Saudi environmental solutions company headquartered in Al Khobar. Its work covers tree planting, environmental rehabilitation, technology-based environmental solutions and environmental consultancy. The company helps organisations in the Kingdom reduce their carbon footprint through nature-based and afforestation projects. In 2023, KPMG named Netzero Saudi Arabia’s most promising tech startup in its Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator programme.
Netzero’s work supports the Kingdom’s environmental ambitions under Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, including large-scale tree planting and land rehabilitation.
The Challenge: Proving Quality, Environmental and Safety Credentials to Major Clients
For a company whose business is the environment, credibility is everything. Netzero’s clients, including large corporates, energy-sector organisations, government entities and giga-projects, increasingly require suppliers to show certified management systems at the prequalification stage. Netzero needed to:
- Qualify for tenders and client vendor registration, where ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are commonly required.
- Meet client and project requirements for documented quality, environmental and safety controls.
- Support investor and ESG credibility, showing that a climate-focused company manages its own environmental and safety performance to international standards.
- Do all of this in one system, not three separate ones, so a 50-person team could run it alongside fast-moving field and consultancy work.
Why Netzero Chose Qdot
- Integrated management system expertise. Qdot builds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 as one IMS with shared documentation, a single internal audit and a single management review.
- Practical, right-sized documentation. For a 50-person company, the system had to be lean and usable, not a template-heavy manual.
- Full-cycle support. Qdot covered every step from gap analysis to the certification audit.
- Independent certification guidance. Qdot is a consultancy, not a certification body, and supports clients in working with internationally accredited certification bodies. Bureau Veritas under UKAS accreditation met that requirement.
The Qdot Approach
Phase 1: Gap Analysis and Planning
Qdot assessed Netzero’s existing processes against all three standards and turned the findings into a project plan with clear milestones toward the certification audit.
Phase 2: Integrated Documentation
Qdot developed one IMS documentation framework covering:
- quality, environmental and OH&S policy and objectives
- context of the organisation, interested parties, and risks and opportunities
- environmental aspects and impacts
- hazard identification and risk assessment
- legal and other requirements
- operational controls, emergency preparedness, and monitoring and measurement
All of it was built around Netzero’s actual activities: tree planting, environmental rehabilitation, technology-based solutions and consultancy.
Phase 3: Awareness and Internal Auditor Training
Qdot delivered IMS awareness training for staff and internal auditor training for selected team members, so Netzero could audit and maintain its own system.
Phase 4: Implementation, Internal Audit and Management Review
Qdot supported implementation and evidence building, then conducted a full integrated internal audit across all three standards, followed by corrective actions and a formal management review.
Phase 5: Certification Audit Support with Bureau Veritas
Qdot prepared Netzero for the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits by Bureau Veritas and supported the team through them. Netzero was certified to all three standards with zero major and zero minor nonconformities.
The Outcome
1. Three certifications, one system. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, delivered as a single integrated management system.
2. Zero nonconformities at the certification audit.
3. UKAS-accredited certificates from Bureau Veritas, recognised by clients, consultants and project owners in Saudi Arabia and internationally.
4. Tender and vendor-registration ready. Netzero can now meet the ISO requirements common in Saudi prequalification.
5. A self-sufficient team. With trained internal auditors, Netzero maintains the IMS independently through its surveillance cycle.
Key Takeaways for Environmental and Service Companies in KSA
- Integrate from day one. One IMS is quicker to build and cheaper to run than three separate systems, especially for a smaller team.
- Environmental companies are held to a higher standard. Clients expect them to manage their own environmental and safety performance credibly; ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 provide the proof.
- Cover field work as well as office work. Environmental aspects and OH&S hazards must reflect what happens on project sites, not just at head office.
- Train internal auditors. That is what keeps the system clean after the consultant leaves.
- Choose an accredited certification body. Check accreditation by a Global ACI MRA signatory for each standard.

FAQs
An IMS combines several ISO standards, typically ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, into one system with shared documentation, internal audits and management review. All three follow ISO’s common high-level structure, which makes integration practical.
It depends on existing maturity and team availability. For Netzero, the project took about nine months, from October 2025 to June 2026.
No. Qdot is a consultancy and training organisation. The certificates were issued by Bureau Veritas under UKAS accreditation.
